Top 5 Kid Friendly Caravan Parks

As summer winds down, the roads are becoming less crowded. Before settling into another year of work and school, why not bundle the family into the caravan for a getaway

At Kakadu Annexes, we understand that family caravanning holidays should be fun, relaxing, affordable, and above all, kid friendly.

So, we’ve compiled a list of Queensland’s top five family friendly holiday parks

Queensland Recreation Centres

Boasting two locations on the stunning Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Queensland Recreation Centre offers family friendly weekend and school holiday accommodation.

Both holiday parks feature self-contained rooms (with ensuites), which sleep up to seven people. Prices start from $84 per night, with no minimum stay required.

There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained. They’ll be kept busy for days in the Coast Club and  climbing the indoor rock wall. Make using the wide range of sporting equipment available.

Kurrimine Beach

If you’re searching for a family holiday off the beaten track, Kurrimine Beach is the perfect destination for you. The owners of this small fishing hamlet have firsthand experience holidaying with kids, and know that parents need a holiday too!

Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park is a kid’s dream. It features a water park, a massive saltwater pool, giant inflatable toys, a jumping pillow, fully equipped playroom, giant chess set and go karts.

Paronella Park

Located just a stone’s throw from Cairns, Paronella Park is like a fairy tale come to life. Let your kids’ imagination run wild as they explore the castles, bridges, tunnels and waterfalls that make this holiday park unlike any other.

This boutique caravan park also features a gas barbecue, hot showers, a coin-operated laundry and resident fish and turtles the kids are sure to love.

Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park

One of Queensland’s most popular caravan parks, Tallebudgera Creek offers every camping option you can imagine – from simple, unpowered camp sites, to luxurious villas.

Located on the idyllic Gold Coast, the tourist park’s estuary is the ideal place to jump in the boat and go fishing, or to paddle around in a canoe. The park also boasts three swimming pools and a playground to keep the kids entertained.

If you’d prefer to hit the waves, Tallebudgera Creek is a short stroll away from the beach. It’s also only a short walk from Burleigh Heads National Park, where you can spend the day exploring the lush rainforest.

Kenilworth Homestead

For a family holiday you will never forget, eschew the beach for South East Queensland’s stunning countryside. Heritage listed Kenilworth Homestead is a privately run outdoor recreation and family camping ground.

Located on the banks of the Mary River, the Homestead is open to camping, campervans, caravans and camper trailers. The kids will love getting back to nature, swimming, feeding the farm animals and exploring the river.
